Romance lives or dies on the obstacle. If the only thing keeping two people apart is that neither has spoken, the story is a misunderstanding waiting to be cleared up. The generator is told to give them a real reason instead, one that would still exist if they were both completely honest.

It is also told to show attraction through attention rather than description. What someone notices, what they remember, what they go out of their way to do. Those land; "she felt a spark" does not.

What this generator is aiming for

A real obstacle

Circumstance, obligation, a job, a family, a decision already made. Something that does not dissolve the moment they talk.

Attention over adjectives

He notices she takes the long way past the window. That tells the reader more than a paragraph about feelings ever will.

Earn the turn

The moment it changes should cost one of them something. A confession with nothing at stake is just an announcement.

Romance questions

Will it be explicit?

No. The generator writes romance rather than erotica, and it keeps things at the level you would find in a mainstream paperback.

Can I choose a happy ending?

Open More options and set Ending. Happy, bittersweet, twist, open or sad, and the story is built towards it without announcing it in advance.

Can I use my own characters?

Put their names in the Character names field and they will be used exactly as written, including spellings the model would otherwise correct.
